Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service

Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service (MVLS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that connects low-income Marylanders in need of civil legal assistance with pro bono attorneys. Individuals can call during intake hours, Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 1 pm, to describe their civil legal problems to an intake paralegal. If the caller qualifies based on income and type of legal issue, we will match the client with an attorney who has expertise in the areas of need. MVLS also provides free legal assistance to nonprofits working to strengthen low-income communities in Maryland.

MVLS will not be holding a tax preparation clinic this year. Please call Baltimore Cash Campaign at 410-234-8008 for a referral to a tax site in your area. MVLS will, however, continue to assist clients needing help with IRS tax disputes or back taxes.
