Appeals of Medicaid Denial—Long-term Care Benefits
May 20, 2008

Medicaid (Maryland Medical Assistance) covers skilled nursing care, rehabilitative services or health related services above the level of room and board, if a person meets financial eligibility guidelines. Long-term care also can include nursing home care, adult day care, as well as home and community based services under Medicaid waiver programs. Medicaid eligibility rules are challenging for applicants and their families, who already are struggling with serious financial and health issues. Similarly, the appeals process can be overwhelming for caregivers. This training is your opportunity to learn about the Medicaid long-term care appeal process and recent developments in this area of law. We also will discuss how to obtain and use medical records in these cases.
