Benefit 2009
More than 200 guests attended our Pro Bono Downs Benefit Event on
March 26, 2009. Members of Maryland’s legal and business community mingled with colleagues and enjoyed the waterfront view from the Museum of Industry, where the event was held.
This popular event featured food, fun, fabulous door prizes and the night’s main amusement - a model horse racing track. Guests reviewed the odds and enthusiastically placed bets (with play money) on six horses with catchy names surely familiar to those who work in the legal community – such as “Third Party Smarty,” “Big Retainer” and “Alimony Pony.” And, the coveted Pro Bono Cup was awarded to one lucky guest, Gary Long, who had the highest winnings.
We especially thank our generous sponsors and prize donors whose contributions made the Event such a smashing success. The Event raised more than $55,000 and the proceeds will support MVLS and help our core pro bono program.
